Share your screen

When it’s time to share content into a Zoom meeting there are several options available across a wide range of devices.
Our favourite? …wireless sharing!

Every Zoom Room has wireless sharing capabilities for when you have content on a device you want to share into a meeting. If you don’t have a device and use HSBC Virtual Connect then we’ve got you covered; every Zoom Room has a thin client fully integrated into the system.

Wireless sharing through Zoom from any device

It is possible to share wirelessly from any device that has Zoom installed, including mobile thin clients and mobile phone/tablet devices. If your device is a HSBC device and on the internal network you will find the steps to share are reduced.

  1. On the room control panel, select ‘Share Content’.
  2. On the device you wish to share from; open Zoom and select ‘Share Screen’. This can be any device (Laptop, Mobile, or Virtual Connect) with the Zoom client, you will need an active network connection.
  3. On your device, enter the sharing key from the meeting room. This is visible on the main screen in the top right-hand corner or on the room control panel under ‘Share Content’.
  4. Press ‘Share Screen’, following which you will be prompted to select an application window to share.

From the integrated thin client device

All Zoom Rooms have a Thin Client integrated into them for accessing HSBC Virtual Connect in the meeting room. This is intended to be used for sharing your Virtual Desktop content in a meeting only.

  1. Ensure there is no device connected to the laptop sharing cable in the room.
  2. Select ‘Share Content’ on the room control panel.
  3. Locate the keyboard/mouse in the room – these are used to control the thin client.
  4. You may need to select ‘Share Locally’ on the room control panel in order to view the HSBC Virtual Connect login screen.
  5. If you do not see the log-in screen appear on the meeting room display, try moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard to wake up the thin client device.
  6. Log in to your HSBC Virtual Connect session as normal.
  7. When you are ready to share your screen select ‘Share to Meeting’ on the room control panel.

Share using a cable

  1. Locate the cable in the room, it may be stored in the table.
  2. Connect the cable to the device to be used for sharing.
  3. You will be prompted on the room control panel to start sharing locally or in the meeting.
