In-Meeting Controls

Customise your experience to reflect the nature of your meeting such as changing the view, enabling captions, or controlling the camera.

Every room is configured in a way that provides the best experience for most scenarios, but if you do want to optimise for your session these are some of the controls you may find useful!

Add / View participants

  1. Press the ‘Participants’ button during a call to see a list of all participants.
  2. From this screen you can mute / unmute participants if the room is the host or co-host, as well as invite additional participants. 
  3. ‘Invite’ is displayed on the main screen on the room control panel as well as within the ‘Participants’ menu.
  4. After pressing “invite”, you will see a search option that allows you to find HSBC colleagues.
  5. Select the colleague you which to invite, then press ‘Invite’ on the room control panel.
  6. The colleague will receive a prompt on their screen stating the room is inviting them to a meeting, with the option to ‘Join’ or ‘Decline’.

Change the layout.

Change how participants are displayed on the screen(s) in the room, a ‘Gallery’ view can be more inclusive for a group conversation whereas ‘Speaker’ is better suited to one person delivering content to an audience. 

  1. When in a meeting select the ‘View’ option on the room control panel.
  2. Select Speaker / Thumbnail / Gallery as required.
  3. For larger meetings, it may be preferable to hide non-video participants from this screen.

Control the Camera

Cameras are set to a default behaviour based on the best fit for most scenarios. However, it is possible to change this for your meeting based on your audience & requirements.

When in a call select ‘Camera Control’ from the room control panel.

    1. Manual – Allows you to direct the camera manually, not recommended.
    2. Speaker Focus – Automatically detects the active speaker and zooms in.
    3. Auto-Framing – Will frame the whole group in a single view.
      • Multi-Focus Framing – Will frame multiple in the room individually.
    4. Multi-Stream – Sends multiple camera feeds to the Zoom meeting (not recommended).

Enable Closed Captions

  1. During a meeting select ‘More’ on the room control panel.
  2. Select ‘Captions’.
  3. Toggle Show ‘Captions’ to enable automatic captions to be displayed on screen.
  4. A message will be displayed to all users to announce captions have been enabled.
  5. Options such as size can be adjusted in the ‘Caption Settings’.
